You
won't find another thing funner to do on Wednesday nights in July than
ride your mountain bike along some buff local trails, well marked and
timed.
The SISNA Course, 10+ miles long,
will be laid out to optimize Farragut State Park's awesome single-track
and will be posted online soon. The really cool thing about Farragut trails
is that they are relatively flat in comparison to most northern Idaho
mountain bike trails. With that said it's been our pleasure to see ALL
LEVELS OF RIDERS, from beginners to world-class professionals enjoying
their exercise.
Registration for each of the four rides happens on-site just before your
lap. Our registrars start manning the tables in the Thimbleberry Group
Camp area at 4:15pm. The clock is started at 4:30 pm and the
course is open. You can warm-up on the course even before you check in,
we just ask that you listen for upcoming traffic and pull off the trail
for folks who are being timed.
Feel
free to bring the youngest children that can pedal and watch them in the
Eichardt's Free Kid's Ride. We also encourage you to stimulate your young
riders by taking them on "the adult course" for some orientation
and some fun. And
when you are ready, there are usually a few free adults willing to supervise
your brood while you take your lap.
Every
evening ends with a
BBQ fund-raiser put on by local clubs or civic organizations
and a free raffle. The raffle is pretty famous for really good bike schwag,
great beer and coupons to awesome food: Eichardt's, Sandpoint Sports,
Mountain View Cyclery, Mt
Baldy (BC CA),
Pucci's Pub, Laughing Dog Brewing and All About Adventures have been kicking
down these really nice raffle prizes for 10 years and we appreciate them
doing so!
For your SERIES registration you'll also receive a commerative series
gift and a ticket for the series raffle grand prize; a day of cat-skiing
or snowmobiling with Selkirk Powder Company!
For photography, look for Cory Murdock to be shooting for Point Photography.
After his lap and a beer, he'll download them to the Daily Bee for publication.
The
SISNA Series is a quasi-competive individual time trail is in it's 10th
year of sponsorship by the internet service provider, SISNA, represented
locally by ASISNA of Spokane.
All
About Adventures, the Sandpoint-based Idaho licensed mountain bike outfitter
and guide service, will send Ken out on July 01 to create the 10+ mile
long course and he'll be there to provide the safety logistics while Russ,
Erin, Spring, Karen and Ryan are looking forward to getting everyone on
the trail between 4:30-6:30pm with their crisp 'on-the-minute' starts.
Riders fees are $20.00 for an evening ride or $75.00 for the entire 4-ride
series.
Please share the information regarding this 10-year old event with your
friends and we'll see you on the 7th of July!
